Hike on his own two feet.


Last week we went for a hike at High Cliff State Park. This was Kai's first ever hike that he used his own feet for. The trails were pretty easy going as you can see in the pictures and he was a little trooper. He walked much of the way and spent only a small time in the back carrier. It was definitely slower going than Jake and I are used to, but I was able to take some photos and it was really exciting to have Kai walking along with us. I have way too many pictures to choose from, so there are going to be a bunch below:

Before we set out on our hikes, we climbed the tower in the picture above.
And played on the playground below.

Spring leaves!


Jake spotted this lady slipper.



Jake and Kai build an ant house.
It is really hard to see, but the ant made some of the photos.






Kai really liked exploring the rocks in these open areas.
I was nervous about ticks/poison ivy so I tucked his pants into his socks nerd style.
